Ante Rebic’s brace helped AC Milan to a 4-2 win over visiting Udinese on the opening day of the 2022-23 Serie A season at the San Siro on Saturday.

The Croatia international scored either side of half-time to give the reigning champions a winning start to the season, having fallen behind after just two minutes at the San Siro to Rodrigo Becao’s shock opener.

Stefano Pioli’s side responded brilliantly, drawing level on 11 minutes through French defender Theo Hernandez’ penalty, and Rebic’s first of the game saw them 2-1 up by the time Adam Pesina equalised for Udinese on the stroke of half-time.

But the hosts kept Le Zebrette out in the second period, with Spanish forward Brahim Diaz and Rebic once again netting to make it 4-2 by the final whistle in Milan.

Romelu Lukaku wasted no time in re-introducing himself to Serie A, scoring two minutes into Inter Milan‘s first game of the season.

The Belgian was making his first appearance for Inter since returning to the club from Chelsea on a season-long loan.

Lukaku required just two minutes to head home the opener on his second Inter debut, but Simone Inzaghi’s side looked set to make a stuttering start when Assan Ceesay levelled three minutes after the break.

But substitute Dumfries was on hand to convert from a corner deep into stoppage time as Inter made a winning start to the new campaign.

Goals from Rafael Toloi and Nigeria player Ademola Lookman gave Atalanta a 2-0 victory over Sampdoria, while goals from Aleksei Miranchuk and Antonio Sanabria gave Torino a 2-1 victory over Monza. Dany Mota scored for Monza.
