Arsenal midfielder Tim Akinola has been ruled out of the season after going under the knife earlier this week, according to a report.
According to All Nigeria Soccer, the Anglo-Nigerian will ‘miss Dundee United’s last five games of the season and is also not at the disposal of Arsenal’s development coaches for the rest of the campaign’, after going under the knife to fix an ankle injury he picked up during a training.
The 20-year-old, who is on loan at Scottish Premiership side Dundee United, faces three to four months on the sidelines if his recovery goes according to plan, according to the report.
Last month during training, Akinola was on the receiving end of a ‘horrendous’ tackle from Dundee United striker Marc McNulty. And that tackle led to Akinola undergoing an operation to correct the issue.
Following a successful operation, Akinola, who only joined the Scottish Premiership side in January, is expected to have fully recovered before the start of 2022/2023 season.
