Mesut Ozil has seen his contract with Fenerbahce terminated.
The former Arsenal man joined the Turkish giants in January 2021 and made 36 appearances for the club.
But after scoring eight goals in 22 league games last season, the 33-year-old midfielder had not featured for the Turkish Super Lig side since March 20 after he was excluded from the squad following a row over his fitness.
According to NTVSpor, Ozil has not been ‘pardoned’ after his troubles from the previous campaign. However, according to the same report, his departure is by mutual agreement.
And Ozil is expected to move within Turkey to continue his career.
