Former Nigeria and Everton forward Victor Anichebe is convinced that Everton will be relegated from the English Premier League unless they sack their manager Frank Lampard.

The 33-year-old has called for the sack of the former Chelsea boss following their 3-2 defeat by fellow strugglers Burnley on Wednesday night.

In a series of posts on his Instagram story, Anichebe showed his frustrations at Lampard’s decisions during the match, including the lateness of Salomon Rondon’s 87th-minute substitution.

Since replacing Benitez after Everton’s 2-1 loss to Norwich in January, Lampard has failed to turn around the Toffees’ fortunes.

He has managed to pick up just two wins in nine Premier League matches since he became Everton’s boss – holding the worst away record in the league. In all competitions, Lampard has won four and lost eight of the 12 Everton games he’s overseen.
