The Nigeria Football Federation has given its committee “five days” to recommend a new Super Eagles coach.

This is coming after the NFF  terminated the appointment of the entire technical crew of the Nigeria national team due to the Super Eagles’ failure to qualify for 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The decision to appoint new coaches for the Super Eagles and other vacant national teams was taken after NFF’s executive committee meeting on Tuesday in Abuja.

Aside from recommending a new Super Eagles coach, the NFF also mandated its sub-committee to recommend new coaches for three other national teams within this same period of five days.

These are the CHAN (African Nations Championship) team, also known as the Home-based Super Eagles, the under-20 male team (Flying Eagles) and the under-17 male team (Golden Eaglets).

According to a statement on the NFF website:

The Executive Committee mandated its Technical and Development Sub-Committee to, within the next 5 days, make recommendations to the Executive Committee on coaching crews for the Super Eagles, the CHAN team, the U20 Boys (Flying Eagles) and the U17 Boys (Golden Eaglets) ahead of upcoming assignments. This is to ensure preparations for the next qualifying tournaments and championships commence in earnest.

And the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) has this to say:

The NFF sub-committee is responsible for the selection of coaches through its recommendations to the Executive Committee.
