Former Chelsea and Arsenal player Willian is set to make a shock return to the English Premier League this season, according to reports.
The 33-year-old joined Arsenal in 2020 on a free transfer after failing to agree new terms with his former side Chelsea, with the Brazilian international offered a two-year deal to stay at Stamford Bridge.
Arsenal were willing to offer three seasons but an unsuccessful spell saw him leave in the summer of 2021 to return to Brazil, signing for his boyhood club Corinthians
Since moving to his homeland, Willian has struggled to make an impact due to injuries, netting just a goal and having four assists in 35 appearances.
And according to Goal, despite his meagre goal tally, the Brazilian is attracting interest from the English Premier League and has even held talks with EPL newbies Fulham over an unlikely return to London.
It is worth noting that Willian has a release clause in his contract – which has 16 months left to run – that facilitates a return to Europe.
He and his family lived in London for nine years, and he could be open to returning to the city with Fulham.
Fulham have already signed Manor Solomon from Shakhtar Donetsk and Andreas Pereira from Manchester United, while Joao Palhinha, Kevin Mbabu and Bernd Leno have moved to the club.
But according to Goal, there is still space for another forward in their squad following the departure of Fabio Carvalho to Liverpool this summer.
