Leicester have played down the prospect of signing Marcelo after rumours they were interested in the former Real Madrid defender, according to reports.
There had been claims the Brazilian, a free agent after leaving Real Madrid this summer when his contract ran out at the Bernabeu, was close to signing a one-year deal with the English club.
But the BBC report that Leicester have distanced themselves from a move for the 34-year-old left-back.
Marcelo spent 16 seasons at Real, making 546 appearances in all competitions and scoring 38 goals.
He also has a sensational six La Liga titles to his name, along with earning 58 caps with the Brazil national team.
