Two people have been arrested after a teenage boy was stabbed to death minutes away from Tottenham Hotspur’s stadium in north London.
Police were called just after midday on Saturday to reports of a stabbing in Orchard Place, Tottenham, where they tried to save Ali Baygören’s life.
Despite the efforts of officers and paramedics, the 17-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
According MyLondon report, two males have been arrested in connection with the incident.
The victim’s mother was heard screaming before the teen was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 54-year-old woman who wished to remain anonymous, said:
I haven’t felt this is a safe home for a long time but I never imagined this – I can’t breathe when I think about what happened. I just think of his mother – I heard his mother screaming.
A resident Tasnia Ali, 39, also said:
I don’t know what society is coming to. It makes you scared to have an argument with someone because you don’t know if they’ve got a knife. What is the world coming to?
The Metropolitan Police want to hear from anyone with information regarding the stabbing.
A statement read:
Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses following a fatal stabbing in Tottenham.
An urgent investigation is now under way.
