England Women are into the semi-finals of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 championships after coming behind to beat Spain 2-1 in their quarter-final tie on Wednesday night.

After a goalless first half, Spain took the lead through Esther Gonzalez in the 54th minute to put England on the back foot, but Ella Toone grabbed an 84th minute equaliser to send the game to extra-time.
And within six minutes of the first half of extra time, England midfielder Georgia Stanway unleashed a screamer from outside of the box that flew into the back of the net to turn the game on it’s head and put the Lionesses 2-1 up.

And it stayed that way for the rest of the additional 30 minutes, meaning that England advance to the semi-finals and continue their quest for European glory.
Sarina Wiegman’s side will now face one of Sweden or Belgium in the semi-finals on Tuesday, July 26 at Bramall Lane.
